How many multiracial students were enrolled in Hamshire-Fannett ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 36 multiracial students enrolled in Hamshire-Fannett ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Hamshire-Fannett ISD schools welcomed 2,065 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, multiracial students comprised 1.7% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Hamshire-Fannett ISD roughly covers schools within Jefferson County and has a main office in Hamshire.

Among the four schools in Hamshire-Fannett ISD schools, Hamshire-Fannett Middle School recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 12 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
