There were five white students enrolled in Tekoa Academy of Accelerated Studies STEM School District in the 2021-22 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Tekoa Academy of Accelerated Studies STEM School District welcomed 368 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, white students comprised 1.4% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Tekoa Academy of Accelerated Studies STEM School District roughly covers schools within Jefferson County and has a main office in Port Arthur.

Tekoa Academy of Accelerated Studies - Orange was the only school in the district which enrolled white students, welcoming five students in the 2021-22 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
