Rep. Weber Announces 2024 Art Competition Winner

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Randy Weber (TX-14) revealed the triumphant pieces of artwork from Texas' 14th Congressional District's 2024 Congressional Art Competition.

The winning entries were as follows:

- 1st Place: Side by Side, submitted by Rylan Lynch from Friendswood High School

- 2nd Place: First Encounter, submitted by Anabelle Thom from Lutheran South Academy

- 3rd Place: Ruler of the Roost, submitted by Claire Radtke from Friendswood High School

- 4th Place: Grand Champion, submitted by Remy Keller from Lutheran South Academy

- 4th Place: Happy Trails and Texas Tales, submitted by Alexandra Vargas Muraga from La Marque High School

Expressing his excitement, Rep. Weber stated, "I am thrilled to announce the winners of our Congressional Art Competition, and the talent in Southeast Texas always blows me away. Rylan's artwork captures the essence of Texas and is a testament to his exceptional skill and creativity. I look forward to seeing it hang in the halls of Congress. Congratulations to the deserving winner and all participants who continue to inspire us with their remarkable artwork."

The Congressional Art Competition, held annually by the U.S. House of Representatives for high school students, aims to acknowledge and promote the artistic abilities of young constituents. Since its inception in 1982, over 650,000 high school students have participated in this nationwide competition. The ultimate winner of the competition will have their artwork showcased for a year in the U.S. Capitol, alongside pieces from other contest winners across the country. Additionally, the artwork of all the winners will be displayed at Congressman Weber's district offices.
