Kim Steinhagen will be presenting a behind the scenes look at Lamar University’s public art collection on Nov. 16 at the Dishman Art Museum on the campus of Lamar University. A reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the lecture will be presented from 6-7:30 p.m.
Steinhagen currently works as a development officer for the College of Fine Arts & Communication and serves as a co-chair of the university’s public art committee. She has been involved with the committee since it began in 2014 and since then the group has added more than 50 works of art by 25 major artists to the Lamar University campus.
During the event, Steinhagen will take the audience through “the history of the collection from day one to the present through the decisions, challenges and successes involved in building one of the premiere university public art collections in the state of Texas.”
