Enrollment at Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD schools increased by 1.2% compared to previous school year

There were 3,233 students enrolled in Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 1.2% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 52.5% of them were boys, and 47.5% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 75.4% of the Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD total enrollment.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD roughly covers schools within Orange County with its main office in Orange.

Among the six schools in Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD, Lit Cypr-Mrceville High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,023 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
