As spring break begins, State Representative Todd Hunter emphasizes the significance of the Texas coastline. With over 360 miles along the Gulf of Mexico, the coast is vital for ecosystems, communities, and tourism. The beaches are habitats for marine life and popular tourist spots.

Corpus Christi, Rockport-Fulton, and Port Aransas offer various beach destinations such as Padre Island National Seashore and Mustang Island State Park. Activities available include fishing, hiking, swimming, and wildlife viewing.

Hunter also stresses beach safety, particularly regarding rip currents. He advises that if caught in one, individuals should swim parallel to the shore or float if unable to escape. Beach conditions can be monitored using the Flag Warning System: red flags signal extreme danger; yellow flags suggest moderate caution; green flags indicate safe waters.

For more information on events in the Coastal Bend area during spring break, visitors are encouraged to check resources like Visit Corpus Christi or Visit Port Aransas & Mustang Island.

Rep. Hunter invites constituents with questions or concerns about state agencies or services to contact his Capitol or District Office at any time.

“State Representative Todd Hunter represents Aransas County and part of Nueces County.” He can be reached via email at todd.hunter@house.texas.gov or by phone at 512-463-0672.
