Washington, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Randy Weber (TX-14) has been honored with the 2024 President's Award by the American Associations of Port Authorities (AAPA) for his outstanding legislative leadership and advocacy for the port and maritime industries.

In his acceptance of the award, Rep. Weber expressed his gratitude, stating, "I'm truly honored to receive the 2024 President’s Award from AAPA. Representing seven ports in Southeast Texas, more than any other member of Congress, I will continue to fight for our ports and ensure they get the resources they need to continue bolstering trade, creating jobs, and securing a brighter future for all Americans."

Cary S. Davis, AAPA President and CEO, commended Rep. Weber, saying, "Representative Weber is a champion of seaports, not only in his home state of Texas but across our great United States of America."

Various leaders from the port industry also extended their congratulations to Rep. Weber. Phyllis Saathoff, Executive Director and CEO of Port Freeport, thanked Rep. Weber for his support and acknowledged his efforts in securing vital resources for port infrastructure development nationwide.

Larry Kelley, Port Director and CEO of Port of Port Arthur, praised Rep. Weber's dedication to supporting ports in Texas and the U.S., stating, "Congratulations to our Congressman Randy Weber, great recognition for a true leader."

Furthermore, Chris Fisher, Port Director and CEO of Port of Beaumont, highlighted Rep. Weber's key role in supporting U.S. ports with funding for critical infrastructure projects, emphasizing the significant impact ports have on the economy and job creation.

Tyson Moeller, Port Director of Port of Texas City, recognized Rep. Weber's understanding of the marine industry's importance and its contribution to the U.S. economy and security.

Randy Reese, Executive Director and CEO of Sabine Neches Navigation District, expressed appreciation for Rep. Weber's tireless efforts in Washington, stating, "Randy Weber gets Southeast Texas, and he helps Southeast Texas 'get after it' in Washington."

Rodger Rees, Port Director and CEO of Galveston Wharves, echoed the sentiments of many, declaring, "I can think of no one more deserving of this great honor than our own Rep. Weber."

Rep. Weber's unwavering support for the port industry and his dedication to securing resources for port infrastructure development have been widely recognized and celebrated by his peers and industry leaders alike.
