WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Brian Babin (TX-36) issued the following statement after recognizing Stephen Scott III, a Woodville Middle School student. Stephen was in DC after being chosen as a student ambassador for the National Campaign to Stop Violence’s “Do the Write Thing” program. This national campaign engages America’s youth by using their stories to shed light on how school violence impacts them and their views on how to stop it.

“It’s refreshing to see younger generations of Americans eager to learn and find ways to tackle serious issues facing our country,” said Babin. “Stephen is from my hometown, and I’m incredibly proud he was chosen to represent the Southeast Texas region in Washington, DC. I pray he always dares to stand up for his beliefs and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”
