Born July 16, 1943, in Port Arthur, Texas

Born July 16, 1943, in Port Arthur, Texas, Jimmy Johnson built a notable career in football. He played college football at Arkansas and later coached at several universities. Johnson became head coach at the University of Miami, leading the team to a national championship in 1987. He then moved to the NFL as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, winning two Super Bowls in the early 1990s. Known for strong leadership and talent development, Johnson helped rebuild the Cowboys into a top team. He later coached the Miami Dolphins before retiring. Johnson also worked as a football analyst for Fox Sports. His roots in Port Arthur link him to a community that produced several prominent figures in sports and music. Throughout his career, Johnson earned induction into multiple halls of fame, including the College Football and Pro Football Hall of Fame, marking his lasting impact on the game.
