There were six Asian students enrolled in Kountze ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 20% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Kountze ISD schools welcomed 1,115 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 0.5% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Kountze ISD roughly covers schools within Hardin County and has a main office in Kountze.

Among the five schools in Kountze ISD schools, Kountze High School recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of three students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
