5.6% of Jefferson County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Jefferson County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.6% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 6,256 people out of the 256,755 living in Jefferson County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Jefferson County has decreased compared to the 5.7% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Jefferson County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 105,774 people who had a job during that time, 379 were employed in the Armed Forces and 105,395 belonged to the civilian labor force.
