Randy Weber, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 14th district since 2013, shared his views on recent legislative actions through a series of tweets on June 5, 2025. Weber, who succeeded Ron Paul in Congress and previously served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2009 to 2013, has been vocal about energy policies and regulatory changes.

In a tweet posted at 17:56:57 UTC, Weber announced the repeal of “EPA’s radical Multi-Pollutant rule and NHTSA’s extreme fuel standards.” He stated that this action would lead to “more consumer choice,” “lower vehicle costs,” and “protection for our domestic auto industry.” “We repealed EPA’s radical Multi-Pollutant rule and NHTSA’s extreme fuel standards.”

At 17:56:58 UTC, he further elaborated on the significance of the legislative measure by describing it as more than just a bill. He referred to it as “a blueprint for getting back to what America does best—working, building, and leading,” emphasizing that it aims to return power to the American energy industry workers. “This isn’t just a bill.”

In another tweet at the same time stamp, Weber highlighted Texas’s role in energy independence and national security. He pointed out that each barrel drilled in Texas reduces reliance on OPEC, every pipeline built strengthens the grid, and every LNG ship sent supports freedom abroad. He concluded with the assertion that “Energy is national security.” “Every barrel we drill in Texas is one less we need from OPEC.”

Weber was born in Pearland, Texas in 1953 and currently resides in Friendswood. He graduated from the University of Houston–Clear Lake with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1977.
