Randy Weber, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 14th district since 2013, shared his views on various issues through a series of tweets on May 21, 2025. Known for succeeding Ron Paul and having previously served in the Texas House of Representatives, Weber is vocal about energy policies and economic strategies.
In his first tweet of the day, Weber expressed support for S.J. Res 31, criticizing the Biden Administration’s EPA “Once-In, Always-In” rule. He stated that this rule penalizes energy producers even after emission reductions have been achieved. He labeled it as “pure nonsense” and mentioned that later in the day, the House GOP planned to vote on repealing this regulation to prioritize innovation over regulation.
Later that day, Weber aligned himself with a fellow Texan’s sentiment regarding welfare programs. The tweet quoted a perspective contrasting Democratic and Republican measures of success: “Democrats measure success by how many people are stuck on the welfare rolls; Republicans measure success by how many Americans are lifted off of them.”
Finally, Weber addressed America’s dependency on foreign critical minerals. He emphasized that America should be leading in mining and processing these resources but has instead ceded power to China. Weber called for a reversal of this trend by advocating for domestic mining and processing efforts.
Randy Weber was born in Pearland, Texas in 1953 and currently resides in Friendswood. He graduated from the University of Houston–Clear Lake with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1977.
