Randy Weber, U.S. Congressman from Texas, addressed ongoing political developments and commemorated a conservative activist in a series of posts on X in October 2025.

On October 14, Weber commented on the ongoing government shutdown, writing, “Sure would be nice if @SenateDems could tell us when they plan to reopen the government and get back to work for the American people. But like Yogi Berra said, ‘It’s tough to make predictions, especially about the future.’ Guess that’s why we’re Day 14 of the Schumer Shutdown.”

Later that day, Weber marked what would have been the 32nd birthday of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, stating, “Today, Charlie Kirk would’ve turned 32 years old, he should be alive, still leading the ‘American Comeback Tour.’ Instead, Mrs. Erika Kirk stood tall to accept the Presidential Medal of Freedom in his honor — a true tribute to a life lived for GOD, FAMILY, and AMERICA… “

On October 16, Weber referenced continued efforts to end the government shutdown, writing, “Today, @LeaderJohnThune held the TENTH vote to do what Senate Democrats won’t: Reopen the government. TEN votes. TEN chances. In any other job, if you failed ten times to do what you were hired to do…you’d be FIRED.”

Weber has represented his Texas district in Congress since 2013 and has consistently won re-election by significant margins. In 2024, he defeated Rhonda Hart with 68.7% of the vote. In previous elections, he won against Mikal Williams in 2022 with 70.2%, Adrienne Bell in 2020 with 61.6% and in 2018 with 59.2%, Michael Cole in 2016 with 61.9%, and Donald Brown in 2014 with 61.9%.
