The post referenced a video message from actor Chuck Norris marking Phelan’s final campaign advertisement as he prepares to retire in 2026.
Two days later, on August 22, 2025, Phelan commented on AARP’s swift engagement following his retirement announcement: “Well @AARP doesn’t waste any time . . . #txlege https://t.co/HWnEKrw3lk”.
