Brian Babin, U.S. Representative for Texas’s 36th congressional district, recently shared updates on social media about local community engagement and national political issues.

On October 30, 2025, Babin highlighted a visit to a local emergency service, writing, “Great visit with the Woodville Volunteer Fire Department with new City Manager Stephen Ramos. Thanks to Chief Alan Gartner for the tour of their new truck and equipment. Grateful for these brave volunteers protecting Tyler County! https://t.co/F37oRUTxoK”.

Later that day, he commented on ongoing debates regarding U.S. drug policy and actions taken by the Biden administration: “Democrats crying foul over terrorists being eliminated tells you everything you need to know. After 50 years of the so-called war on drugs, @POTUS is going straight to the source — saving thousands of American lives in the process. https://t.co/sG4CfAY1OM”.

On October 31, 2025, Babin announced his upcoming appearance on national television: “I’ll be joining @FoxBusiness shortly to discuss the Schumer Shutdown and its impact on hardworking Americans. Tune in!”

Babin has represented Texas’s 36th district since first winning election in 2014. He has consistently secured reelection by wide margins, defeating Democratic challengers such as Dayna Steele in both 2018 and 2024 with over two-thirds of the vote each time. In previous cycles, he also won against Rashad Lewis in 2020 and Jon Haire in 2022 by similarly large percentages.
