Brian Babin, U.S. Congressman and Chairman of the House Science Committee, shared updates on legislative achievements, political commentary, and a tribute to a public figure in recent social media posts.

On September 15, 2025, Babin announced the passage of new legislation with a post stating: “As Chairman of @HouseScience, I’m proud we passed the Weather Act Reauthorization of 2025—strengthening @NOAA research, advancing severe weather forecasting, boosting preparedness, and expanding commercial data use to better protect American lives and communities.”

Later that day, Babin commented on political discourse in the media. He wrote: “Political violence doesn’t happen in a vacuum. When legacy media scream that republicans are ‘fascists’ over and over, deranged people listen. Then they act. The media doesn’t just report the news anymore—too often, they’re responsible for lighting the match.” This statement reflects his concerns about media influence on public actions.

On September 16, 2025, Babin paid respects to Charlie Kirk with a message reading: “It was an honor to stand in Statuary Hall last night to honor the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk. A true American patriot whose voice will never be forgotten.”

Babin has maintained his seat through several election cycles since first being elected in 2014. He secured re-election victories against multiple opponents across different years: defeating Michael Cole in 2014; Hal Ridley Jr. in 2016; Rashad Lewis in 2020; Jon Haire in 2022; and Dayna Steele both in 2018 and again in 2024.
