Brian Babin, U.S. Representative from Texas, highlighted tax relief measures in a series of posts on April 15, 2026, coinciding with Tax Day. Babin shared details about federal tax cuts and their impact on Texas residents and families across the country.

In his first post on April 15, Babin stated, “Tax Day isn’t anyone’s favorite—but this year, it’s a whole lot better. The average Texan is seeing a tax cut of over $4,000, and a family of four earning up to $73,000 will owe ZERO in federal income taxes. That’s real relief for hardworking Americans.”

Later that day, Babin reiterated his support for the new tax policies by saying, “For once, Tax Day comes with good news. Today, I’m standing with @SpeakerJohnson and my @HouseGOP colleagues. We are putting THOUSANDS back in Americans’ pockets—where it belongs. Washington takes less. You keep more.” This statement emphasized the collaborative efforts within the House GOP to reduce the financial burden on taxpayers.

In a subsequent post that evening, Babin wrote, “For the first time in years, Americans are filing their taxes expecting a return, not a hit. Thanks to @HouseGOP, the Great American Comeback is showing up in paychecks and refunds.”

Brian Babin has held his congressional seat through multiple election cycles since 2014. He most recently won re-election in 2024 against Dayna Steele with nearly 70% of the vote. In previous general elections since 2014—including victories over Michael Cole (2014), Hal Ridley Jr. (2016), Rashad Lewis (2020), Jon Haire (2022), and again Dayna Steele (2018)—Babin consistently secured significant majorities.

These posts come as Congress debates ongoing changes to federal taxation policy and its implications for working families across different states.
