U.S. Representative Brian Babin, who has consistently secured re-election in Texas with large margins since 2014, recently posted a series of statements on his social media account highlighting support for President Trump’s economic and immigration policies, as well as the ongoing Artemis space mission.
On August 14, 2025, Babin stated: “President Trump’s economic plan is working. Tariffs are helping protect American jobs – just like they did before 1913 – when our nation relied only on tariffs, not income tax. America First WORKS. https://t.co/AmpswvJATQ”
The following day, he addressed immigration enforcement in Houston: “In just six months, ICE arrested 214 illegal immigrants in the Houston area, all charged or convicted of child sex crimes. That’s more than all last year, thanks to the government crackdown under President Trump. https://t.co/iyNUQ0WC8d” This statement references recent law enforcement activity attributed to new federal initiatives.
Later on August 15, Babin commented on the United States’ efforts in space exploration: “.@NASA’s Artemis mission is moving forward. We’re not just returning to the Moon, we’re going to beat China there. America MUST win this space race!”
Babin has represented his district since first winning election in 2014 and has maintained significant support over multiple election cycles. In the most recent general election in 2024, he defeated Dayna Steele with nearly 70% of the vote; similar margins were seen against Jon Haire in 2022 and Rashad Lewis in 2020.
His public endorsements reflect ongoing debates over trade policy and border security under former President Trump’s administration as well as bipartisan interest in NASA’s Artemis program.
