Brian Babin, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 36th district since 2015, recently shared updates on social media highlighting local heroism, legal developments, and a White House event.
On July 22, Babin commended the actions of Petty Officer Scott Ruskan during recent floods in Texas. In his post, he stated: “Petty Officer Scott Ruskan didn’t run from the storm—he ran into it. He saved 165+ lives along the Guadalupe River after the floods. Meeting him today was a reminder of the quiet bravery that keeps this country strong. Texas salutes you, a true American hero.”
The following day, July 23, Babin commented on a significant judicial decision regarding immigration enforcement in New Jersey. He wrote: ” A MAJOR win for law and order. A federal appeals court just struck down New Jersey’s anti-ICE law, calling it what it is: an unconstitutional attempt to block federal immigration enforcement.”
Later on July 23, Babin posted about attending an event at the White House with his wife Roxanne. He described the occasion as follows: “A special day at the White House with my beautiful wife, Roxanne, celebrating one big, beautiful bill for the American people. Fight, fight, fight! “
Babin has served in Congress since replacing Steve Stockman in 2015 and represents constituents from East Texas communities.[1] Born in Port Arthur in 1948 and currently residing in Woodville,[2] Babin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Lamar University.[3]
