Brian Babin, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 36th district since 2015, has recently shared his thoughts on various political matters through a series of tweets. Babin, who succeeded Steve Stockman in Congress and was born in Port Arthur, Texas in 1948, has been active in addressing issues related to tax policy, law enforcement, and national wildlife refuges.
On May 20, 2025, Babin expressed enthusiasm about a conversation with former President Trump regarding legislative efforts. He highlighted the potential impact of their “Big, Beautiful Bill,” which aims to revive the American Dream by implementing measures such as “Tax cuts,” “No tax on tips/overtime,” “Border security,” “Energy unleashed,” and achieving “$1.6T in savings.”
The following day, May 21, 2025, Babin commented on legal proceedings involving elected officials. He supported the actions taken by Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba and emphasized that “no one is above it—not even elected officials.” He thanked Habba for her commitment to law enforcement and justice.
Later that same day, Babin discussed his legislative initiative on Fox Friends First. The bill seeks to formalize an executive order from President Trump that renames the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge to honor Jocelyn Nungaray. Babin stated that “Her tragic, preventable death is on Biden & Mayorkas.” He stressed the importance of remembering Nungaray’s story to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Babin continues to serve his constituents while advocating for policies he believes will benefit both Texas and the nation.
