Brian Babin, U.S. Representative for Texas’s 36th congressional district, criticized Democratic lawmakers in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) between November 1 and November 3, 2025, focusing on government shutdowns, tariff authority, and air travel system concerns.

On November 1, Babin posted: “Democrats have sold out to the Soros-funded, far-left wing of their party, at the expense of millions. Keeping the government shut down to please radicals is beyond shameful.”

Two days later, on November 3, Babin addressed trade policy and bipartisanship by writing: “Limiting Trump’s tariff authority isn’t bipartisanship—it’s betrayal. America loses, our enemies win.”

Later that day, he turned his attention to transportation issues: “Democrats are pushing our air travel system to the breaking point. Washington gridlock shouldn’t be the reason Americans can’t get home for the holidays.”

Babin has represented Texas’s 36th district since winning his first election in 2014 and has consistently secured re-election by wide margins. In recent elections, he defeated Dayna Steele in both 2018 and 2024 with more than two-thirds of the vote each time. He also won against Jon Haire in 2022 and Rashad Lewis in 2020 with similar margins. Earlier victories include defeating Michael Cole in 2014 and Hal Ridley Jr. in 2016.
