Brian Babin, U.S. Representative for Texas’s 36th congressional district, posted a series of statements on his X (formerly Twitter) account addressing federal policy issues and expressing support for President Biden.

On September 25, 2025, Babin criticized previous Democratic approaches to COVID-19 policy by stating, “The Left told us to ‘follow the science’ during COVID, but they never did. @POTUS and his cabinet are ACTUALLY following the science.”

Later that day, Babin voiced strong backing for the President in ongoing legislative negotiations: “I support @POTUS 100%! We cannot let Democrats blackmail us into a CR that brings back Biden’s disasters—open borders, coddling criminals, men in women’s sports, drag queens in schools, sky-high prices, and billions wasted on illegals.

We will not be extorted! America FIRST!”

On September 26, 2025, Babin addressed environmental regulation policies from previous administrations: “In 2009, Obama’s EPA declared CO₂, a gas essential for life, a “pollutant.” That single decision unleashed $1T+ in regulations, higher costs for families, and Biden’s EV mandate.

It was about control, not science. Time to end the Endangerment Finding.”

Babin has consistently secured reelection since first winning his seat in 2014. In the most recent contest in 2024 he defeated Dayna Steele with over two-thirds of the vote. Previous elections saw similar margins against various opponents including Jon Haire (2022), Rashad Lewis (2020), Dayna Steele (2018), Michael Cole (2014), and Hal Ridley Jr. (2016).
