Brian Babin, a U.S. Representative who has consistently won re-election in Texas congressional races since 2014, posted a series of tweets between September 2 and 3, 2025, addressing topics ranging from crime in major U.S. cities to international drug trafficking and White House holiday events.

On September 2, 2025, Babin commented on violence in Chicago by stating: “When Democrat-run cities defund the police and let chaos rule, don’t be shocked when the headlines read: 58 shot in Chicago over Labor Day.”

Later that day, he addressed issues related to Venezuela and cartel activity with the statement: “Maduro’s Venezuela keeps fueling the cartels. Today the U.S. military reminded them: if you traffic poison, you sink.”

On September 3, Babin shifted focus to community engagement at the White House during the holiday season: “Want to help decorate the White House for Christmas—or perform during holiday open houses?  Volunteer & performer applications are OPEN now through Sept 5, 2025!”

Babin has represented his district since first winning election in 2014 and has maintained strong electoral support over multiple cycles. In recent years, he secured victories against opponents such as Dayna Steele (2018 and 2024), Rashad Lewis (2020), Jon Haire (2022), Michael Cole (2014), and Hal Ridley Jr. (2016), often receiving more than two-thirds of the vote each time.
