Brian Babin, U.S. Representative for Texas’s 36th congressional district, posted a series of messages on his official X account on September 8, 2025, addressing topics ranging from political allegations to community recognition.

In one post published at 14:47 UTC, Babin wrote: “The same people who cry about “threats to democracy” RIGGED the 2016 election, tried to overturn it in 2017, and framed an innocent man. Never forget.”

Later that day at 18:52 UTC, Babin shared news of a local honor: “It was an honor to present East Chambers ISD Superintendent Scott Campbell with a flag flown over the United States Capitol in recognition of his retirement, marking the conclusion of an exemplary forty-two year career in education.”

At 21:11 UTC on the same day, Babin questioned national loyalty in another post: “Why would ANY American root against the land that gave them freedom and opportunity?”

Babin has served as a representative since first winning election in 2014. He has consistently secured re-election by significant margins. In recent cycles he defeated Dayna Steele in both the 2018 and 2024 general elections with more than two-thirds of the vote each time. In other years he prevailed over Jon Haire (2022), Rashad Lewis (2020), Michael Cole (2014), and Hal Ridley Jr. (2016) by similarly wide margins.
