Brian Babin, U.S. Representative for Texas’s 36th congressional district and Chair of the House Science Committee, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing national identity, legislative actions by House Republicans, and NASA’s anniversary.

On July 28, 2025, Babin stated, “There’s a reason we’re the land of the free and home of the brave, and subscribing to the ideologies of Palestine is not it. The American flag will always fly high in TX-36.” On the same day, he highlighted recent legislative efforts: “.@HouseGOP has voted to codify 50 of Trump’s executive actions into law, locking in the America First agenda and crushing the last four years of Biden’s incompetence.”

On July 29, 2025, Babin recognized NASA’s anniversary: “As Chair of @HouseScience, I’m proud to wish @NASA a happy birthday! Since its founding in 1958, NASA has been America’s beacon of exploration and innovation. Here’s to many more years of discovery!”

Babin has served as representative for Texas’s 36th district since first winning election in 2014. In each subsequent general election—including contests against Michael Cole (2014), Hal Ridley Jr. (2016), Rashad Lewis (2020), Dayna Steele (2018 and 2024), and Jon Haire (2022)—he secured victory with significant margins.
