Congressman Brian Babin has issued a statement following the death of J. Bruce Bugg Jr., chairman of the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT).

“I was deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Chairman J. Bruce Bugg Jr. This is a tremendous loss for Texas. Bruce was not only a friend but a devoted public servant whose leadership at TXDOT helped transform transportation across our state. I had the privilege of working with him on multiple occasions and witnessed firsthand his passion for improving infrastructure, mobility, and safety for all Texans. His legacy will endure for generations. Roxanne and I send our heartfelt prayers and condolences to his family during this difficult time,” Babin said.

Babin has served as U.S. Representative from Texas’s 36th district since 2015, having won several elections by large margins against various opponents.
